Bristol City Women are pleased to announce the permanent signing of defender Brooke Aspin from Chelsea.

The 21-year-old returns to the Robins, where she progressed through the youth academy and previously made 52 first-team appearances.

Aspin, originally joined City’s academy at age 14 and made her senior debut at just 16 before playing a pivotal role in the 2022/23 promotion campaign, scoring in the famous 4-0 victory over Charlton at Ashton Gate.

On returning to the club, she said: “It feels amazing to be back, I started off my journey here and it’s always going to be home so I’m excited to show the fans what I can do again.

“I made my statement here at the club and I want to continue that. I've grown as a person and a player and I want to prove to the fans why I’ve come back.”

Head Coach Charlotte Healy said: “We're delighted to welcome Brooke back to Bristol City Women. She already understands what this club is about and what it means to represent the badge, which makes this an exciting fit for everyone.

Brooke is a talented young defender with real quality on the ball, excellent athleticism and a strong mentality. Despite her age, she's shown she can perform consistently at a high level both domestically and internationally, and we believe there's still significant room for her to develop.

She fits the profile of a player we're looking to build this team around, ambitious, hungry to improve and capable of helping us achieve our goals. We're excited to work with her again and can't wait to see her continue her journey in a Bristol City shirt.
