Fan Engagement Commitment.

Our Objective.

Enable meaningful change by promoting positive and inclusive role models. Create and grow authentic fan and community engagement, digitally and in person. Empower individuals and groups to believe in the power of women's sports.

Bristol City Women's 3-year strategy was launched in October 2024 and laid out a clear vision, big aims and a plan to help us meet our objectives. A huge part of our strategy is, and always will be, fan engagement.

Our overarching club vision is to grow together, play at the highest level and inspire our community. We aim to create a truly inclusive and interactive fan experience; from our matchdays at Ashton Gate, to player appearances in the community and the use of our online platforms to reach new fans across the world. We believe that in engaging with fans in a meaningful way, listening to their views and having open dialogue with groups across our city, we can grow our fanbase to bigger than ever before.

We had big goals; the highest average attendance and season tickets in the Championship for season 24/25, and over 100 community appearances by players per season. Unfortunately we didn't reach our attendance goal, but made 127 appearances across 32 primary schools.

Our plan for the 26/27 season will be building on foundations from previous seasons, while also strategically engaging with new, untapped and unofficial fan groups from across the city. We will continue to add to our maverick matchdays and aim to be the best in class for matchday experiences across the WSL1 and WSL2.

We believe that if we show up for the people of Bristol, they'll show up for us.

Fan Communication

Fan Forum

We will host at least one Fan Forum per season. This will be hosted at Ashton Gate Stadium and driven by questions from our fans.

Supporter Group Meetings

We will continue to have open dialogue with a variety of fan groups across the city with the aim of representing the whole demographic.

Social Media

We will continue to use our social media platforms to engage with fans, encourage attendance at our games and build public profiles for our players.

Fan Experience

Open Training Session

We will host an open training session during pre-season.

Enhance Matchday Experience

We will improve matchday experiences with a theme for each fixture, giving us clear focuses and interactive activations in our fan village.

Fan Feedback

We will continue to send post-match email surveys plus work with city-wide focus groups.

Community Engagement

Robins Foundation

We will continue to build on our relationship with our Foundation with a bi-annual Community Connection event. The event will platform all Foundation programmes, give them the chance to engage with every player, sign them up to become an Ambassador and commit to at least 4 appearances at their chosen programme per season.

Community Appearances

We will look to base our community appearances around a 'big idea'. In season 24/25 this was an aim of 100 primary school appearances per season, which we were really proud to reach. We are looking at a few 'big ideas' ahead of next season including female sport drop-out rates and how we can help to improve it.

Fan Groups

We will look to add to our Supporters Club & Trust with some further fan groups to call on for feedback, opinions and creative ideas. We would like to add an official Fan Advisory Board and a young supporters' group, plus engage further with Robyn's Round, the female-specific Bristol City group.
