Bristol City Women are pleased to announce the signing of Australian defender Alexia Apostolakis.
The versatile 20-year-old makes the switch following her two-year tenure with A-League Women side Melbourne City.
Born in Sydney, Apostolakis progressed through the youth setups at St George FA and the FC Barcelona Academy Sydney before beginning her senior career with the Western Sydney Wanderers.
Making her A-League Women debut in December 2021, she became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Wanderers at 15 years and 279 days old.
In July 2024, Apostolakis moved to Melbourne City to further her development in the top flight.
Internationally, Apostolakis has consistently represented Australia across youth formats, featuring heavily for Australia Under-20’s.
Apostolakis received her first call-up for the senior Matildas in 2025, when she was added to the extended squad for two friendlies against South Korea, before making her senior debut against Panama on July 5th, 2020.
On signing for City, she said: “It feels pretty surreal to be here. I got here a few days ago, and I’ve just been taking in the environment.
“I've already met quite a few people, and I just feel so welcomed, so I’m really excited to get going.”
Head Coach Charlotte Healy added: “We’re absolutely delighted that Alexia has chosen to join us. For a young player to move from the other side of the world to become a Bristol City player shows incredible commitment, so we're thrilled to have her here.
She is someone who will bring a fantastic energy to the group; she’s young and hungry to succeed, which is exactly what we want in the squad.
