Preview: Burnley (A).

Bristol City are back on the road again this weekend as they head to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Saturday, September 26th (12pm).

The Robins will be looking to make it back-to-back wins this Saturday after a 5-1 win over Watford last weekend.

Rio Hardy’s hat-trick, was followed up with an own-goal and Katie Robinson’s first for the club since returning last January, which saw City pick up their first three points of the season. As for Saturday hosts Burnley, they come into the fixture off the back of a 3-0 defeat to newly promoted Wolves.

Burnley secured promotion to the Barclays WSL2 in impressive fashion last season, finishing undefeated with 20 wins and two draws to secure the FAWNL Northern Premier Division trophy.

It was a positive start to life in WSL2 for The Clarets too who kicked-off the 2026/27 campaign with an away point at Watford on the opening day.

Jackie Bachteler’s side however have failed to record a point since, suffering defeats to Sunderland and Wolves, conceding five times across the two fixtures.

The rocky form currently leaves Burnley in 10th above Durham and Sheffield United who are both still without a point after three games.

ONE TO WATCH - Christie Harrison-Murray

Christie Harrison-Murray arrived at The Clarets this summer, bringing a wealth of experience following her departure from Birmingham City.

The Scottish attacking- midfielder has had an extensive career across the game, enjoying early spells with Queen’s Park, Celtic, Glasgow City, Arsenal, Bristol City, and Doncaster Rovers, before establishing herself at Liverpool with 36 WSL appearances across two seasons.

In 2020, Harrison-Murray made the move to Birmingham City for a standout six-year stint.

Her time in the Midlands culminated in success, wearing the captain's armband as the Blues clinched the BWSL2 title last season.

The 36-year-old has had a successful career on the international stage too where she boasts 82 caps and five goals for Scotland, having represented her country at both UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
